Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Riley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerry Tramp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tramp has chosen Tom Tom Club as his entrance music. Max Riley has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Max Riley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jerry Tramp!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tramp tries to clinch but Riley moves away

and Riley moves into the clinch.
Riley throws a knee to the head but misses.
Tramp swings wildly with an uppercut but Riley uses good head movement to avoid it.

Riley has picked Tramp up - he's going for a ride! Riley dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Tramp tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Riley counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Riley is controlling the pace.
Tramp pushes Riley off looking to stand but Riley dives back in and keeps control.

Riley perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Max Riley wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Tramp wants to clinch but Riley slips to the side

and Riley decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Tramp's guard.
Riley throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Tramp works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Riley wants to stand but Tramp has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Riley is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Max Riley.
The fight stays on the outside here - Riley looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Tramp wants to clinch

and Riley counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Tramp!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tramp tries to close the distance and clinch up but Riley swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Tramp tries to close the distance and clinch but Riley swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Riley shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tramp pinned against the cage. Tramp gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Riley throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jerry Tramp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tramp tries to clinch up but Riley circles away and keeps his distance.

Riley fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Tramp, pushing him back against the cage.

Riley decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Tramp, up you get!

Riley looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Tramp is looking to escape.

Riley shoots in but Tramp avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Riley throws a right hand that Tramp ducks under and follows up with a left that Tramp also avoids with ease.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tramp can do anything to dispel that myth.

Max Riley has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Tramp wants to clinch up but Riley keeps it at a distance.
Riley shoots for a double leg takedown but Tramp sprawls well. He's pushed Riley's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Max Riley.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Riley, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
