Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cosmo Fairtex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fairtex's entrance music is Bad Company. A fine choice. Velasquez has chosen UFC - Face the Pain as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasquez keeps the fight on the outside.
Fairtex tries to clinch but Velasquez is having none of it.
Fairtex closes the distance looking to clinch

and Velasquez counters with a single leg into guard. Fairtex didn't expect that.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Velasquez is in close to Fairtex's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Velasquez connects with a couple of short punches.
Velasquez is looking to work some ground and pound but Fairtex has wrist control.
Velasquez wants to pass the guard but Fairtex is keeping the position.
Velasquez in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Velasquez stands up over Fairtex, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Fairtex will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Fairtex is looking to stand up but Velasquez isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fairtex is breathing heavily.
Velasquez with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Velasquez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Fairtex is working to avoid the ground and pound but Velasquez connects with a decent elbow.

Fairtex is rocked!
The crowd goes nuts as Velasquez knocks Fairtex out cold with a massive hammerfist! Velasquez Jumps to his feet and climbs on top of the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
