And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jeremiah Russel!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Igor Prikhodko and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cerrone shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cerrone showed some decent athleticism there.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Russel can do anything to dispel that myth.

Cerrone wants to work for an arm triangle but Russel is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Cerrone is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Cerrone is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Russel defends it well.
Russel has his hands clasped together around Cerrone's back. He's all about the action.
Russel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cerrone. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Russel is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Cerrone jumps into side control!

That's one minute gone in the round.

Cerrone thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Cerrone is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Russel is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Cerrone tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Cerrone is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Russel looks calm but he's in trouble here. Cerrone gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Russel is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Cerrone lets go of the hold and Russel can pop his arm back in it's socket.
