The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Omori Takahara seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Takahara fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Roberts slips a jab and a cross from Takahara.
Takahara throws a left and a right that both miss

and Roberts counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Takahara's guard now.
Roberts seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Roberts stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Takahara swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Takahara has a closed guard, preventing Roberts from standing up.
Roberts really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Takahara. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Roberts stands up and waves to Takahara to follow him.

Roberts dives in and scores a takedown into Takahara's guard.

Roberts got a little sloppy there for a moment and Takahara has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Roberts has managed to get both his arms back between Takahara's legs - danger averted.
