These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gold moves to clinch but McDaniel breaks away
and McDaniel counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
McDaniel keeps the fight on the outside.
Gold is looking to clinch but McDaniel is avoiding it.
Gold tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
That kick from McDaniel tenderised Gold's leg. Gold is trying to keep his angry face on.

McDaniel tries a body shot but Gold blocks it.
Gold is pushing McDaniel up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Gold is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gold chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before McDaniel can pounce on him.
McDaniel takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Oh Gold is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gold walks straight into a right hand from McDaniel - that's dropped him! McDaniel jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Gold from any more punishment! Gold complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
