The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hands.
Savage closes the distance and clinches up with Hands, looking for a takedown. Savage pushes Hands against the cage but Hands circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Savage counters with a shoot takedown. Hands fights it but they end up in guard.
Savage trying to control but Hands is working from the bottom.
Savage is looking to stand up but Hands won't let him.

Hands controls Savage momentarily but Savage frees himself.
Hands wants to get back to his feet but Savage is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

and Hands counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Savage throws an elbow but Hands slips to the side and avoids it well.

Savage is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hands is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hands gets tackled into the cage by Savage. Savage maintains the clinch.
Savage is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Hands pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Savage tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Hands has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Savage avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Savage shoots in and drives through. Hands sprawls well.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

BOOM! Hands lands a beautiful left hook that drops Savage. Savage tries to recover but Hands is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Savage lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
