The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Severn drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Yamamoto is trying to hold Severn in close to prevent damage but Severn has managed to pass into half guard.
Severn is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Yamamoto is not content to let Severn control the position.
Severn not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Severn content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Severn thows a huge punch but Yamamoto dodges it nicely.

Yamamoto makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Yamamoto.
Yamamoto wants to sweep here but Severn controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Yamamoto working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Severn.
Severn throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Severn lands a couple of digs.
Severn loads up on a big left hand. Yamamoto felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Severn looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Yamamoto can't hide his disappointment, as Severn celebrates the victory.
