Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shawn Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Wallace might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Throw it Back. On his way into the cage it seems that Shawn Wallace has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Shawn Wallace seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shawn Wallace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Smith!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Smith tries to clinch up.

Smith forces Wallace back against the cage and clinches.

Wallace pulls guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Smith stops Wallace from standing up.
Wallace looking to hit a scissor sweep but Smith is one step ahead there.
Smith postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Smith thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Smith is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Smith stands and throws Wallace's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Smith is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Wallace will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Wallace is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Let's hope that Smith has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Smith gets control of Wallace's arms and successfully pulls guard. Smith will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Smith pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Smith is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Wallace has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Wallace!

Wallace is standing up over Smith. Smith looks to escape but Wallace dives into side control.

Smith is desperately trying to improve his position but Wallace has a good base and remains in mount.
Smith is bucking up trying to escape but Wallace cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Smith is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

Smith is desperately trying to improve his position but Wallace has a good base and remains in mount.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Smith can do anything to dispel that myth.
Smith wants to try and get back to his feet.
Wallace lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Smith is in all sorts of trouble here.

Wallace jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Smith is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Smith and Wallace has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Smith sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Wallace wants to stand up but Smith is controlling the position.
Smith is holding on to half guard well.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Smith is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Wallace jumps into side control!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Smith is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Wallace shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Smith as he avoids it easily.

and Wallace counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Wallace.

Smith jumps guard and drags Wallace to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Wallace has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

and Wallace counters with a series of strikes. Smith will be more careful next time no doubt.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Wallace swings for the body but Smith moves out of range.

Smith gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Smith keeping moving, preventing Wallace from controlling successfully.

Wallace stands up and waves to Smith to follow him.
Smith with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Wallace to score with a decent uppercut.
Wallace lands a nice hook to Smith's body. Smith takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Shawn Wallace is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Wallace throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Smith's head.

Smith shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wallace sprawls well. Wallace wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.

Wallace changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Smith looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Wallace works to advance to full mount. Smith defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's time! Wallace's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Smith tries to close the distance and clinch but Wallace swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Wallace tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Smith was well out of range. Poor timing from Wallace.
Wallace leaves Smith with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Wallace is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Smith takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Smith goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Wallace has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Smith but great work by Wallace.

Wallace tries to keep control of the position but Smith is staying busy.

Smith slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Smith shoots in for a takedown but Wallace shows good takedown defense.
Wallace tries a head kick but it misses.
Smith blocks a head kick by Wallace.
Wallace tries to close the distance and clinch but Smith swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Wallace tries to score a power double leg takedown but Smith sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wallace somewhat.

Smith drops his hands momentarily and Wallace takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
