Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Peralta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Liam Machin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jacob Peralta had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 146.7lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Jacob Peralta could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Liam Machin's chin.

The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machin throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Sloppy strikes from Machin. Those never looked like landing.
Machin connects with the punch.
Machin misses with a series of wild punches.
Machin lands the left hand.
Peralta swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Peralta fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Machin checks it well.
Machin getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

and Machin counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Machin scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Nice uppercut lands for Machin. That snapped Peralta's head back.
Machin lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Peralta at a distance.
Machin misses with the combination.
Machin throws a sloppy head kick and Peralta moves out of range easily.
Machin shoots in for a takedown but Peralta shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

A decent looking cross lands there for Peralta.

It looks like Liam Machin has been cut.
Peralta fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Machin has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Peralta tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Machin uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Peralta.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Machin is trying to break the clinch but Peralta has him pressed against the cage.
Machin lands a hook to the side of the head.

Machin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Machin scores with a jab to the jaw.
Machin looks to land a combination but Peralta avoids it well.
Peralta throws a series of punches but Machin avoids them all with ease.
Peralta throws a body punch but Machin moves out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Machin closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Machin lands in his opponent's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
