The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howell looks to land a combination but Nieds avoids it well.
Howell throws a leg kick but Nieds sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Nieds takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

It looks like Josh Howell has been cut.
Nieds missing with a left hand there. Howell was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Howell lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nieds circles away quickly and effectively.

Nieds is stalling here. Howell is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Nieds seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Howell has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Howell wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nieds keeps working.

That was a close second round but I would say that Todd Nieds will probably get the nod.
