Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shane Brian! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Charlie Chase! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chase throws a wild body kick that Brian sees coming a mile off. Chase shoots for a double leg takedown but Brian sprawls well. He's pushed Chase's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Chase misses with a series of wild punches.
Brian blocks the body kick.

Chase throws a half hearted mid kick. Brian goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Chase is rocked!
It looks like Charlie Chase has been cut. Brian tries to clinch up but Chase circles away and keeps his distance. Brian gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Chase trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brian trying to keep a closed guard but Chase is proving a slippery customer.
Chase is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Brian is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Brian has escaped and now he's on top! Chase looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Chase wants to hit a switch here but Brian passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Chase there! Chase can't escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Brian with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Brian trying to control but Chase is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brian stands up from mount. Strange move. Chase shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Brian but Brian pushes him off and we're back to square one. Shane Brian has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Chase fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Brian feints and then cracks Chase's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Chase down.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brian fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Chase sprawls well initially but Brian persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Chase is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Brian pulls his head out easily. Chase is trying to get back to full guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Chase looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Chase moves into full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Chase looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Chase keeping moving, preventing Brian from controlling successfully. Chase wants to sweep but no luck. Brian wanted to stand there but Chase had control of the position. Chase has his foot on Brian's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Brian works his way back into a safe position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shane Brian dominated that round. The cut man is working on Charlie Chase's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Chase misses with a takedown and Brian counters with an outside leg kick.
Brian goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Chase throws a head kick that misses and Brian counters with a good, hard body kick but Chase shrugs it off. A nice combination there by Brian.
Chase with a lazy takedown attempt and Brian counters with a head kick. Chase is still on wobbly legs! Can Brian finish him? Brian tries to clinch but Chase is having none of it. Brian tries to land a leg kick but Chase saw it coming and moves away.

Shane Brian has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charlie Chase. Chase lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Chase seems to have recovered his senses. Shane Brian is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A low kick from Brian is predictable there and Chase counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Brian's guard now. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Chase passes Brian's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Chase is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Brian is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
