Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Melvin Gabriel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Smirnor Valucka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valucka has chosen Waking The Demon as his entrance music. Smirnor Valucka told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Melvin Gabriel ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Smirnor Valucka! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Skip Squint and Winston Howard.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Valucka fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Gabriel tries to clinch but Valucka moves out of range.
Gabriel shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gabriel showed some decent athleticism there. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Valucka is doing well to control the position and prevent Gabriel from advancing to side control.
Gabriel is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Valucka is just riding it out for now. Gabriel eventually gives up the hold. Gabriel thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Gabriel not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Gabriel slows the pace down in half guard.  That's one minute gone in the round. Gabriel is looking to take a break and control but Valucka is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Gabriel seems to be looking for submissions.
Gabriel lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Valucka really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gabriel . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gabriel takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.  That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gabriel works his way into side control. Valucka tries to improve position but can't. Gabriel in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Valucka is looking to regain half guard here but Gabriel keeps moving and retains side control. Valucka takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Gabriel wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Valucka, who protects the arm well. Check out the look on Gabriel 's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

It looks like Smirnor Valucka has been cut. Gabriel moves into full mount! Gabriel unloading with bombs!

Valucka is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Gabriel locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Valucka is forced to tap!
