Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Damian Newman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Depta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Newman's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Taki maly taki duzy. Peter Depta is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Damian Newman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Peter Depta! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Dmitry Maklakov and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Depta lands with an overhand left. Depta misses with a body shot.
Depta lands a left and a right that sends Newman crashing to the canvas! Depta dives into mount looking to finish!
It looks like Damian Newman has been cut. Depta lands with some strikes.
Newman is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Newman is squirming around, avoiding Depta's attempts to control the action. Depta throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Newman sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Newman gets full guard. Depta wants to stand and escape but instead Newman has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Newman trying to control but Depta is working from the bottom. Newman slips nicely into half guard. Newman is keen to just control but Depta is a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Newman is really struggling to control Depta but he's trying to hold on to the position. Depta really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Newman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Newman wants to work for an arm triangle but Depta is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Newman is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Depta wants to get back to his feet.
Newman is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Depta is trying to stand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Depta regains full guard. Nicely done. Depta keeping moving, preventing Newman from controlling successfully. Newman controlling from the top position. Newman trying to control but Depta is working from the bottom. Newman passes easily into side control. Nice work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Depta can't do much from the bottom here. Newman is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Depta is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Newman looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Depta can't do much from the bottom here. Newman goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Depta has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Newman but great work by Depta. Depta creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Newman sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Newman defending against the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Newman can't do much from the bottom here. Newman taking a bit of punishment here - Depta scoring with strikes. Newman is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Newman keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Depta seems to be looking for submissions.
Depta looks gassed! Newman moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Newman lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Depta! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Newman sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Newman has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Damian Newman will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Damian Newman's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Depta misses with the combination.
Depta lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Depta scores with a decent looking hook. Newman shoots in but no luck this time. Depta lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Newman circles away quickly and effectively. Depta throws a series of punches but Newman avoids them all with ease. Depta misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Depta connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Newman momentarily.
Depta throws a right hand that Newman ducks under and follows up with a left that Newman also avoids with ease. Newman misses with a low kick. Peter Depta is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Newman showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Depta.
Peter Depta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Depta is breathing heavily. Newman throws a head kick that misses. Newman tries to clinch there but Depta circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Depta connects with a good right hand that stumbles Newman. Newman circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Depta throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Depta shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Newman gets back to full guard.
Newman bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Depta's guard. Newman passes easily into side control. Nice work. Newman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Newman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Newman is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Depta knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Newman trying to control the action but Depta is working from the bottom. Depta is being controlled here. Newman looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Depta gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Newman goes for an armbar but Depta turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Depta. Newman is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Depta is aware though and is defending well. Newman manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Depta manages to get himself to full guard.
Newman won't allow Depta to get back to his feet. Newman works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Newman seems to be working for a kimura but Depta defends the submission attempt. Newman is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Depta! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Newman jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Depta manages to avoid the submission attempt. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Newman is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Depta has escaped the position, nice work there. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Newman has hold of Depta's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Depta tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Newman cranks the arm and Depta screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Depta, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
