Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ground Guru!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tim Price!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Price scores with a shot to the body.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Guru.
A looping hook to the body misses from Price. Guru does a little dance to reset his feet.
Guru tries for a takedown but Price sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Price buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Guru throws a head kick but Price moves out of range.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Guru is trying to drag Price to the mat but Price just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ground Guru. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Price lands a body punch in the clinch.
Price lands an uppercut.
Price lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Guru backwards.


It looks like Ground Guru has been cut.
Price prevents a takedown attempt there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Price working Guru over with knees to the body.
Price trying to control the position but instead, Guru has worked for underhooks and has pushed Price into the ropes.
Guru takes a knee right on the jaw!
Price lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Guru jumps guard but Price stands there with Guru around his waist. Guru gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Guru tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Price smiles and moves away.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Price.
Guru is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Price throws a head kick but Guru moves out of range.
Guru is trying hard to land a takedown here. Price sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Price throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Guru's head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Price scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.


Guru is rocked!
Price lands with a right that hurts Guru. Guru looks to clinch but Price throws a short knee that drops Guru. This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch and Knee). Tim Price!
Tim Price is the new lightweight champion!
A very excited looking Tim Price made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
