Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nate Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jayson Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodriguez has chosen Amazing By Kanye West as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nate Cruz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jayson Rodriguez!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rodriguez.
Cruz has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Cruz there as he acknowledges the shot.
Rodriguez works the jab nicely.
Rodriguez's corner calls for a 1-2. Rodriguez obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Cruz closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Rodriguez's guard.
Cruz advances to half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Cruz connects with a nice short shot to Rodriguez's temple.

Cruz is working for a submission of some sort.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cruz seems to be working for a kimura but Rodriguez defends the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Well, if Cruz is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Cruz thows a huge punch but Rodriguez dodges it nicely.

Cruz seems to be looking for submissions.

Cruz has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Rodriguez defend it? Cruz steps over the head and cranks it - Rodriguez is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Cruz!
