Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nathan James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Kingman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kingman has chosen Eurodancer as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Nathan James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Kingman!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Chris Edwards and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James tries to clinch there but Kingman circles away.

James has managed to clinch.
Kingman has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. James avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Kingman tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. James just stands there and leans against the cage.
James has Kingman pressed against the cage.
James tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
James wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kingman has him pressed against the cage.
Kingman wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Kingman manages to break the clinch.
Kingman looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Nathan James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Kingman.
James fails in his attempt to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

James closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kingman to the mat! Kingman manages to get full guard.
Kingman looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Kingman looking to hit a scissor sweep but James is one step ahead there.
Kingman is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
James postures up.
Kingman tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

James pulls guard successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
James controls Kingman momentarily but Kingman frees himself.
Kingman preventing the sweep.
Kingman trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but James manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
James might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
James tries to free his leg and advance position but Kingman is retaining full guard.

Kingman is working an open guard so James takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Kingman shoots and misses

and James counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kingman looks gassed!
James postures up.

Kingman is looking for a triangle here but James uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
James trying to control the position but Kingman is working away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kingman is looking to reverse the position.
Kingman struggling a bit here.
Kingman is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked James off and has taken his back!

Kingman looking to break James's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. James remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Kingman will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Will Kingman go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Kingman is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Despite being in the dominant position, Joe Kingman just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kingman tries for a takedown but James circles away easily

and James counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by James.
James tries to pull guard but Kingman holds him up against the cage and eventually James drops back down to his feet.
Kingman is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Kingman looking to slow down the pace here.

James has clasped his hands together around Kingman's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nathan James dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Kingman fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. James sprawls well initially but Kingman persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Kingman wants to control but James is keeping him busy.
Kingman wants to stand but James has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kingman trying to advance position but James counters by regaining guard.

Kingman wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of James's closed guard. He's half up but James has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! James pivots and extends the arm, Kingman falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by James! Well done that man!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Nathan James!
