The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooper shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Stompkick sprawls well. Stompkick wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cooper gets slowly back to his feet.
Stompkick slips a jab and a cross from Cooper.

Cooper gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jhony Cooper wasn't doing enough on the ground.

and Stompkick counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Cooper's guard now.

Cooper is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Stompkick dives into side control.

Cooper tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Stompkick wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Cooper sneaks out the side door and pushes Stompkick away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Stompkick thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Cooper if he has to take too many more of those.
Stompkick pushes Cooper away with a front kick.
Cooper chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Stompkick can pounce on him.

Cooper dodges the punch combination from Stompkick.
Stompkick closes the distance and lands a one-two.

It looks like Jhony Cooper has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cooper knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stompkick on the ground.
Stompkick passes the guard and advances to mount!
Stompkick has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Cooper's face.

Stompkick throws a body punch but Cooper moves out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Cooper. No joy for Stompkick on that attempt.
Cooper lands with an uppercut that bounces Stompkick off the cage and back into range.
Stompkick lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Cooper backs up against the cage.
Cooper tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stompkick swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jhony Cooper is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Stompkick shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Stompkick was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Stompkick lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Cooper is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stompkick postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Cooper in real trouble here! The ref calls for Cooper to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
