The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belfort pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Ismail back to the cage. Belfort follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
It looks like Wallid Ismail has been cut.

and Ismail decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Belfort's guard.

Ismail is trying to drag Belfort to the mat but Belfort just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Belfort throws a series of punches but Ismail avoids them all with ease.
Belfort connects with a right hand. Ismail shakes it off.
Belfort throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ismail sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Belfort keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ismail takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Ismail avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Belfort cracks Ismail with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
