The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Playmaker fails to land the takedown.

Druff feints and as Playmaker raises his hands in defense, Druff changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Druff drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Druff jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Playmaker had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Druff is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Playmaker Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Druff's back instead.

Druff is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Playmaker gets his way!

Druff is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Playmaker is just riding it out for now. Druff eventually gives up the hold.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Druff counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

and Druff counters by moving into the clinch.
Dan Druff has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pjanoo Playmaker.
Druff wants to break free but Playmaker has control.
Playmaker can't get the takedown.

and Druff counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Playmaker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Druff gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Playmaker really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Druff. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Druff passes into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
