PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Artem Blinov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johan Strauss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Blinov might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Cult Of Personality - Living Colour. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blinov is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Strauss.

It looks like Artem Blinov has been cut.
Blinov takes one on the button.

Strauss clinches up with Blinov and pushes him back against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Strauss breaks from the clinch.
Strauss throws a right hand that Blinov ducks under and follows up with a left that Blinov also avoids with ease.
Strauss scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Strauss!
Blinov is trying hard to land a takedown here. Strauss sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Strauss moves into the clinch.

Strauss gets a trip takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Strauss stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Blinov to get to his feet.
Blinov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Strauss tries to avoid it but Blinov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Strauss to the ground. Strauss escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Blinov shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Strauss throws a nice looking combination but Blinov bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Blinov is rocked!

Strauss clinches up with Blinov and pushes him back against the cage.
Oh Blinov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Blinov wants to break free but Strauss has control.

Strauss gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Blinov regains guard.
Blinov seems to have got his legs back now.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Strauss stands and steps away. Blinov gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Blinov has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Blinov there as he acknowledges the shot.

Strauss ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Strauss tries to bum rush Blinov with a series of wild strikes but Blinov uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Blinov scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Blinov. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Blinov dives in and grabs Strauss's left leg, looking for a takedown. Strauss pushes down on Blinov's head and hops out.

Blinov rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Strauss moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Johan Strauss seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Strauss successfully pulls guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Strauss is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Blinov is controlling him.
Strauss really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Blinov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Strauss keeping moving, preventing Blinov from controlling successfully.
Blinov forces his way into half guard.
Blinov is trying to control the action in half guard but Strauss is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Strauss tries to kick Blinov off but Blinov keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.

Jeez, Artem Blinov's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

Strauss wants to stand and escape but Blinov is having none of it.

Strauss has his feet on Blinov's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Strauss is breathing heavily.
A punch lands to the side of Blinov 's head but he takes it in his stride.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Artem Blinov's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
