Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gareth Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Velaquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Gareth Edwards has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Gareth Edwards seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Edwards is defended easily by Velaquez.

Velaquez throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Edwards tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Velaquez is in Edwards's guard.

Velaquez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Edwards pinned against the cage. Edwards gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Velaquez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Edwards is fending him off so far but Velaquez persists. Nope, Edwards circles away and we're back to standing.
Velaquez looks gassed!

Edwards shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Edwards was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Velaquez is in a horrible position here. Edwards smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

It looks like Cain Velaquez has been cut.

Edwards looking to secure an arm triangle but Velaquez defends it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Edwards looking for a guillotine from mount but Velaquez is having none of it.
Velaquez is looking to get to half guard.

Velaquez is squirming around, avoiding Edwards's attempts to control the action.

The cut above Cain Velaquez's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Cain Velaquez's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
