The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Maynard.
Diaz lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Maynard throws out a loose jab but Diaz uses good head movement to avoid it.
Diaz throws a right and a left that Maynard avoids nicely.
Diaz cracks Maynard with an open hand slap.

Maynard darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Maynard wants to stand up but Diaz has a hold of him and won't allow it.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Maynard connects with a nice short shot to Diaz's temple.
