Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pavel Pavlov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Valuev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pavel Pavlov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Viktor Lagutenko and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valuev throws a series of punches but Pavlov moves out of range.
Valuev connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Valuev throws a right and a left that Pavlov avoids nicely.
A left and a right from Valuev both land. Nice combination.
Valuev throws a jab when Pavlov was well out of range.
Valuev throws a hook but Pavlov blocks it.
Sloppy strikes from Valuev. Those never looked like landing.
Pavlov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Valuev as he jumps to the side.
Valuev looks to land a combination but Pavlov avoids it well.
Horrible takedown by Pavlov or perhaps it was just good defense by Valuev which made him look bad.
Pavlov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Valuev defends it nicely.

Valuev closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Valuev lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Pavlov backs up against the cage.

Ivan Valuev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Valuev looks to land a combination but Pavlov avoids it well.
Pavlov shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Valuev sprawls well. Valuev wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pavlov gets slowly back to his feet.
Valuev's jab looks to have found its range, popping Pavlov under the eye.
Valuev moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Pavlov shoots in and drives through. Valuev sprawls well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Valuev looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Pavlov shoots for a takedown but Valuev saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Pavlov closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Pavlov shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Valuev throws a nice looking combination but Pavlov bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Valuev is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Valuev scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Pavlov doesn't seem bothered though.

Pavlov has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Valuev finds it's way round the side to connect with Pavlov's head.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Pavlov.
Pavlov looking to score a takedown here. Valuev is defending well but Pavlov drives through and ends up in Valuev's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Pavlov has gone for a leg lock! Valuev slips out almost immediately though and dives into Pavlov's guard.
Valuev decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Pavlov, up you get!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Valuev uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Pavlov has time to react.

Valuev throws a series of punches but Pavlov avoids them all with ease.
Pavlov shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Valuev looks to land a right hand but Pavlov moved out of range.
No joy there for Valuev, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Valuev throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ivan Valuev dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Pavlov looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Valuev is fending him off so far but Pavlov persists. Nope, Valuev circles away and we're back to standing.
Valuev lands with a hook. Pavlov tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Valuev shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Pavlov eats them both and turns towards Valuev to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Valuev tries to bum rush Pavlov with a series of wild strikes but Pavlov uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Valuev connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Valuev stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Valuev wants it to stay on the feet.

and Pavlov decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Valuev's guard.

Valuev is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Pavlov drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Pavlov seems to have locked his on tight now - Valuev screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Pavlov, as he picks up the win!
