Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rugal Bernstein! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ivan Susanin! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bernstein looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Bernstein scores with a jab to the jaw. Susanin closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bernstein did well to prevent Susanin getting side control. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Bernstein pushes Susanin off looking to stand but Susanin dives back in and keeps control.
Susanin missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Susanin is working for a submission of some sort.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Susanin wants to control but Bernstein is keeping him busy. Susanin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bernstein defends it well. Bernstein tries to kick Susanin off but Susanin keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Susanin is trying to work for a kimura but Bernstein is defending well.
Susanin is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Bernstein! Susanin has isolated one of Bernstein's arms. Bernstein looking to fight him off but Susanin twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
