Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Michael Druce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Druce!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jim Miller!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller misses with a two punch combination.
Druce displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Miller.
Miller is trying hard to land a takedown here. Druce sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Michael Druce seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Miller feints and as Druce raises his hands in defense, Miller changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Druce is trying to control the position but Miller postures up.
Miller working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Druce's head.
Miller is looking to work some ground and pound but Druce has wrist control.
Druce is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Miller is controlling him.

Druce looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Druce trying to keep a closed guard but Miller is proving a slippery customer.
Miller stops Druce from standing up.

Miller connects with a couple of short punches.
Druce will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Druce keeping moving, preventing Miller from controlling successfully.
Miller makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Miller trying to control the position from guard on top but Druce is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Miller must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Miller scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Miller is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Miller sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Druce's guard.

Miller is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Druce defends it well.
Druce looks like he's trying to stand up.
Druce is looking to control Miller's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Druce avoid being mounted?
Miller is looking to take a break and control but Druce is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Druce tries to get to full guard but Miller has control of the leg.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Miller thows a huge punch but Druce dodges it nicely.
Miller wants to take a breather but Druce is having none of it.
Druce wants to control the action here but instead Miller manages to pass to full mount!

Miller is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Druce to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Druce shrugs it off.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Miller lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Druce hang on?

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Miller working for a submission but Druce is keeping him at bay.
Miller scoring with strikes but Druce is staying in there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Druce is trying desperately to improve position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Miller with a couple of short strikes.
Miller controlling the pace for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jim Miller dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Miller.

Miller fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Druce to the ground. Miller is now in Druce's guard.

Miller content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Druce has locked up a guillotine! Druce's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Miller is holding on here and Druce must be using up a lot of energy. Miller has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Druce gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
