Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Anthony Wright!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Cole Tessier!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Shimada.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tessier fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Wright.
Tessier looks to land a combination but Wright avoids it well.

Tessier has managed to clinch.
Tessier wants to get back to striking at distance but Wright won't allow it.
Wright has Tessier pressed against the cage, preventing Tessier from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Tessier has had enough of the clinch but Wright keeps him there for the moment.

Wright tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Tessier gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Wright regains guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Wright seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Wright tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Tessier manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Tessier lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Wright circles away quickly and effectively.

Tessier looks to land a combination but Wright avoids it well.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Wright. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Tessier throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Wright on the side of the head.

Tessier rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Wright moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Tessier tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Wright was well out of range. Poor timing from Tessier.

Wright closes the distance and clinches up with Tessier, looking for a takedown. Wright pushes Tessier against the cage but Tessier circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Tessier throws a hook to the side of Wright's head but Wright sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Anthony Wright seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wright fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Wright shoots for a double leg takedown but Tessier sprawls well. He's pushed Wright's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
