Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wiremu Russell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kitano Ajinomoto!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Russell bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Ajinomoto is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Russell off and has taken his back!

Russell is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Ajinomoto gets his way!

Russell had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Ajinomoto is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Russell Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Ajinomoto's back instead.

Russell connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Ajinomoto to escape the position.
