Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daniel Alkofer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daniel Sadorra! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Damien Edna and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alkofer staying out of range there. Sadorra closes the distance but Alkofer moves to the side and Alkofer decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sadorra's guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Alkofer trying to control the position from guard on top but Sadorra is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Alkofer preventing the sweep. Alkofer is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Alkofer wants to control from the top but Sadorra keeps moving.
Daniel Alkofer has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. A punch combination from Alkofer misses. Alkofer shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sadorra napping and manages to drive through into side control! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sadorra is looking to regain half guard here but Alkofer keeps moving and retains side control. Sadorra manages to get back to half guard. Alkofer stands up and beckons Sadorra to join him on the feet. Sadorra fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Alkofer avoids it really well and circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sadorra shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Alkofer is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Sadorra scores with a couple of nice shots. Alkofer is looking to escape. Sadorra is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Alkofer is looking to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alkofer taking some punishment here, with Sadorra in his half guard.
Alkofer is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Alkofer is looking to get back to full guard here but Sadorra has managed to pass to side control instead. Oh Alkofer is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Sadorra has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Sadorra stands up and beckons Alkofer to his feet. Daniel Sadorra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sadorra gets a big slam - oh, Alkofer is out! Alkofer is out! That's a nasty KO!
