The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maier circles away from the clinch attempt.
Maier shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
O Hare is wriggling around trying to escape.
O Hare wants to control but Maier is having none of it.
Maier landing strikes from the mount and O Hare is in trouble!
O Hare working to try and regain half guard.
Maier looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Maier looking to secure an arm triangle but O Hare defends it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maier is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. O Hare can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Maier jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but O Hare manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Maier has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Maier lands a strong strike to the head of O Hare. That's dazed him! Maier looking to finish here. O Hare is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Maier lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
