The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bodier shoots in but Belt avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Belt shoots in for a double leg but Bodier sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Horrible takedown by Belt or perhaps it was just good defense by Bodier which made him look bad.
Bodier shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Belt stuffs the takedown.

Belt pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Bodier back to the cage. Belt follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Bodier really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Belt pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Belt tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bodier sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Belt somewhat.

Bodier rushes Belt and presses him up against the cage.

Belt tries to pull guard but Bodier won't allow it.

Bodier has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Belt uses from the top position.

Bodier has his feet on Belt's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Bodier closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Belt did well to prevent Bodier getting side control.

Bodier decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Belt tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bodier swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Bodier looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Belt is fending him off so far but Bodier persists. Nope, Belt circles away and we're back to standing.

Bodier escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Bodier shoots for a double leg takedown but Belt sprawls well. He's pushed Bodier's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Bodier throws a leg kick which misses Belt's front leg but catches the back leg as Belt tries to avoid it.
Bodier moves out of range of the body kick from Belt.
Belt is trying hard to land a takedown here. Bodier sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Bodier tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Belt was well out of range. Poor timing from Bodier.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Bodier.
Bodier avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A slapping leg kick lands for Bodier.
Belt tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Belt has Bodier up against the cage in a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Belt gets tackled into the cage by Bodier. Bodier maintains the clinch.

Bodier breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Belt throws the left hand but Bodier avoids the punch easily.

Bodier moves into range and clinches up with Belt.

Bodier manages to break the clinch.
Belt fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bodier avoids it really well and circles away.
Bodier avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Bodier dives in and scores a takedown into Belt's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, if Bodier is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Bodier postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Belt to stand up.
Belt throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bodier's waist but Bodier gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Belt off to one side.
Belt is breathing heavily.

Bodier closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Belt quickly recovers to half guard.
Bodier is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Bodier is landing with some decent strikes but Belt is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Belt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bodier. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
