The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maunonen connects with a good right hand that stumbles Remmi. Remmi circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Remmi does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Remmi scores with a punch to the head.

It looks like Janne Maunonen has been cut.
Maunonen throws a right hand that Remmi ducks under and follows up with a left that Remmi also avoids with ease.

Maunonen takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Maunonen uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Remmi.
Maunonen throws the left hand but Remmi avoids the punch easily.
Remmi throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Maunonen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Remmi tries to avoid it but Maunonen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Remmi to the ground. Remmi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Maunonen closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Remmi's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Remmi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maunonen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Maunonen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Maunonen cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Maunonen postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Remmi looks a forlorn figure.
Maunonen lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Maunonen postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Remmi badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Maunonen around the waist but Maunonen pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Maunonen is the winner by TKO! Maunonen jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
