PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Po Ping (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ste Pon Me (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ping's entrance music is Kung Fu Fighting. A fine choice. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pon Me looks to land a combination but Ping avoids it well.
Pon Me will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Pon Me throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Ping scores with a spinning back kick!
Pon Me looks gassed!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ping darts in and clinches Pon Me up against the cage.

Ping escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ping throws a right and a left that both miss.

Ping has closed the distance and engaged Pon Me in a clinch.

Ping tightens his grip and picks Pon Me up, before dumping him to the ground. Pon Me manages to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Ping postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Ping scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Ping controls from within his opponent's guard.
Ping lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ping is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Ping decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Ping takes the fight into the clinch.

Ping has hold of one of Pon Me's legs. Pon Me is fighting the takedown attempt but Ping gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Ping with a nice head shot there.
Ping is in close to Pon Me's body, working some short punches and elbows.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pon Me can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ping controls the pace.

Ping working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Pon Me's head.
Ping showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Ping landing with the ground and pound.

Ping lands a couple of digs.
Ping's corner is telling him to maintain position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Ping seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pon Me for as long as he can get away with.
Ping has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Po Ping wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Ping moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Ping feints a jab and as Pon Me dips his head, Ping unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Pon Me right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Pon Me falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Ping smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
