Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jose Aldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sarah Fitz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aldo comes to the cage accompanied by Parado Na Esquina. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fitz tries to clinch up but Aldo circles away and keeps his distance.
Fitz swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Fitz has taken the fight to the clinch.

Fitz's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Fitz tries to clinch up but Aldo circles away and keeps his distance.
Fitz fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Sarah Fitz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fitz throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Fitz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Aldo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fitz somewhat.
Fitz shoots in for a takedown but Aldo shows good takedown defense.

Fitz tries to close the distance and clinch up but Aldo swats him away and circles back towards the center.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fitz is trying to stand.

Aldo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Fitz defends it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fitz is looking to escape.

Aldo is trying to work for a kimura but Fitz is defending well.
Fitz tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Aldo manages to move to mount!
Fitz wants to hold on but Aldo pushes him away.

Fitz is working to get back to half guard.
Aldo trying to control but Fitz is having none of it.
Aldo avoids the attempt from Fitz to control.

Aldo looking to secure an arm triangle but Fitz defends it well.
Fitz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Aldo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fitz is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Fitz tries to hold on but Aldo pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Fitz shoots in for a takedown but Aldo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Aldo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Fitz.
Fitz tries to close the distance and clinch up but Aldo swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Fitz throws a sloppy head kick and Aldo moves out of range easily.

Fitz gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Aldo.
Fitz is breathing heavily.
Fitz is pressed up against the cage. Aldo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Fitz down to the mat. Fitz avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Nice sprawl there from Fitz as Aldo shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jose Aldo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fitz throws a head kick that misses.
Aldo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Fitz tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Aldo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Horrible takedown by Aldo or perhaps it was just good defense by Fitz which made him look bad.

Aldo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Fitz.
Aldo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fitz avoids it really well and circles away.

Fitz leaves Aldo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Fitz tries to improve his position but Aldo has taken his back! Aldo has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Fitz tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Aldo pushes Fitz away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
