Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Emilio Carofilho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lou Fertit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carofilho comes to the cage accompanied by Ven Bailalo. Lou Fertit is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Fertit as Carofilho shoots in.
Carofilho shoots in but Fertit avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Carofilho has control of Fertit's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Fertit regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Fertit drops back looking for a leg! Carofilho is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Carofilho manages to kick Fertit off! Fertit jumps back into Carofilho's guard.
Carofilho escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fertit gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Carofilho looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Fertit has picked Carofilho up and slammed him! Carofilho can't keep hold of the triangle and Fertit manages to pass to side control!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Fertit is trying to escape the mount but Carofilho keeps good control and instead manages to take Fertit's back.
Carofilho is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Fertit defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
