Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mercito Gesta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antoine Dodson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Antoine Dodson has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Mercito Gesta's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mercito Gesta! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Antoine Dodson! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gesta misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gesta gets caught napping as Dodson dives in and scores a takedown. Gesta manages to retain guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Gesta is looking to stand up but Dodson isn't so interested in that idea. Dodson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gesta. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gesta controls Dodson momentarily but Dodson frees himself. Dodson being controlled here momentarily. Dodson postures up.
Dodson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Dodson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Dodson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Dodson is looking to work some ground and pound but Gesta has wrist control. Dodson throws a big right hand that misses. Dodson preventing the sweep. Gesta manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dodson manages to get himself to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gesta is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Gesta trying to control but Dodson is working from the bottom. Dodson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Gesta trying to control but Dodson is working from the bottom. Gesta thows a big elbow that misses. Gesta pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dodson is keeping the position for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dodson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Gesta has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Gesta wants to control from the top but Dodson keeps moving.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Mercito Gesta wasn't doing enough on the ground. Gesta shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Dodson is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Gesta landing strikes from the mount and Dodson is in trouble! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gesta throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Dodson because Gesta loaded up on that one. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gesta tries to control but Dodson wriggling away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gesta is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Gesta extends the arm and Dodson is forced to tap!
