PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rick Langley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shinigami Hyuuku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Langley might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to No More Heroes: Kill or Be Killed Mix. The crowd seem to be enjoying Hyuuku's choice of entrance music: In My Head. Shinigami Hyuuku told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Langley manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hyuuku on his heels. He'll look to pass Hyuuku's guard now, I'm sure.
Langley postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Langley accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Langley has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Hyuuku is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Langley is just riding it out for now. Hyuuku eventually gives up the hold.

That was a close round but I would say that Rick Langley will probably get the nod.

Hyuuku had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Langley defends it easily.
