PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bada Bada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Kreese (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bada comes into the arena with The Prodigy Warriors Dance blaring out of the sound system. Kreese has chosen Saw Theme as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bada Bada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, John Kreese!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Ivan Kurochkin and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kreese tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bada was well out of range. Poor timing from Kreese.

Bada shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Bada is looking to stall here but Kreese recovers full guard.
Kreese working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Bada.
Kreese looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bada is one step ahead there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bada trying to control but Kreese is working from the bottom.
Bada throws a strike but Kreese rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Kreese wants to control from the top but Bada keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kreese forces his way into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bada is trying to get back to full guard.
Kreese is just content to waste time from the top position. Bada takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Kreese trying to control the position from guard on top but Bada is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bada wants to sweep here but Kreese controlling him for the moment.
Kreese must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kreese passes Bada's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Kreese thows a huge punch but Bada dodges it nicely.
Kreese looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Bada makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Bada.

Bada looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bada wants to sweep here but Kreese controlling him for the moment.
Kreese is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Kreese passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Kreese connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Bada some visible discomfort.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but John Kreese will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


A jab from Kreese misses.
Kreese connects with a body shot that sends Bada's belly button to the back.
Kreese moves out of range as Bada strikes.
Bada shoots in but Kreese avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Nice shot lands for Kreese.
Kreese throws a hook but Bada blocks it.
Bada avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kreese. Bada does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bada shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kreese as he avoids it easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bada.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bada Bada. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kreese takes a swing at Bada's ribcage but misses.
Kreese defending well as Bada loads up on a big left hand.
Kreese looks to land a right hand but Bada moved out of range.

Kreese looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Kreese postures up and lands a big shot to Bada's brow.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bada is on top in guard.
Kreese is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kreese wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Kreese preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Bada looking to sit in guard and control but Kreese gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Bada is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kreese defends well.

Kreese looking to pass the guard.

Kreese got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bada has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kreese has managed to get both his arms back between Bada's legs - danger averted.

Bada is looking to sinch up a triangle. Kreese throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Bada's body to avoid the submission. Bada has instead reached around Kreese's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Bada arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Bada Bada!
