The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maury feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Dawsons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Dawson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Maury is looking to control Dawson's arms but Dawson gets an underhook and turns him. Now Maury has his back to the cage.

Dawson gets control of Maury's arms and successfully pulls guard. Dawson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Dawson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Maury. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Maury drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Maury jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Maury is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Dawson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Dawson has escaped and now he's on top!

Dawson stands and steps away. Maury gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Maury shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dawson as he jumps to the side.

and Maury counters with a right hand to the body.

Dawson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Maury changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dawson tries to avoid it but Maury manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dawson to the ground. Dawson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
