Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Callum Elliot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keisuke Honda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Keisuke Honda is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Callum Elliot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Keisuke Honda!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Honda shoots in looking for a takedown but Elliot manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Honda's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Elliot throws a sloppy head kick

and Honda counters with a single leg into guard. Elliot didn't expect that.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Honda sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Honda is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Honda wants to control from the top but Elliot keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Honda drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Honda jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Honda drops back looking for a leg! Elliot is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Elliot manages to kick Honda off! Honda jumps back into Elliot's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Honda trying to control but Elliot is working from the bottom.
Honda tries to free his leg and advance position but Elliot is retaining full guard.

Honda thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Honda is stalling in the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Honda drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Elliot dives on top into guard.
Honda looking to control.
Honda pulls Elliot in close to his closed guard and prevents Elliot from doing any damage or advancing position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Callum Elliot just wasn't active enough.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Elliot.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Elliot lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Elliot throws a sloppy head kick

and Honda decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Elliot's guard.
Honda working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Honda drops back looking for a leg! Elliot is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Elliot manages to kick Honda off! Honda jumps back into Elliot's guard.
Honda slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Let's hope that Honda has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Elliot on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Elliot tries to get out of the position.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Honda trying to control the position from guard on top but Elliot is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Honda is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Elliot is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Honda thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Keisuke Honda dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Elliot displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Honda.
Elliot misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Elliot throws a sloppy head kick and Honda moves out of range easily.

Honda shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Honda is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Elliot has managed to free his arm - good work.
Honda is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Elliot!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Honda trying to control but Elliot is having none of it.
Honda punching from mount but Elliot doing a good job of avoiding damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Elliot defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Honda.
Elliot is squirming around, avoiding Honda's attempts to control the action.

Honda jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Elliot manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Honda wants to lay and pray for a moment but Elliot keeps working.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Honda is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Elliot is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Honda tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Honda has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Keisuke Honda has got the better of the ground game so far.

Honda thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Honda wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Elliot, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Honda is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Elliot has escaped the position, nice work there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Keisuke Honda showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Elliot misses the shot to the body.
Elliot swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Honda counters with a takedown into side control.

Honda has hold of Elliot's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Elliot seems comfortable defending it but Honda has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Elliot is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Elliot is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Honda couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Keisuke Honda!
