The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Putin slips under a jab.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Vandelay connects with a nice short shot to Putin's temple.

Putin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Vandelay pulls his head out easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Art Vandelay has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nikolai Putin.

Vandelay throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Putin.
Art Vandelay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Putin moves out of range of the body kick.

Putin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Vandelay's waist but Vandelay gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Putin off to one side.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Putin walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Putin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Vandelay as he avoids it easily.
Vandelay connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Putin! He's out on his feet! Vandelay rushes in and drops Putin with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
