The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mathias looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Artukovic showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mathias.
Mathias loads up on a big right hand but Artukovic slips the punch.
Artukovic shoots in for a takedown but Mathias shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Artukovic slips a straight right by Mathias.
Artukovic stuns Mathias with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Artukovic gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Mathias cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Mathias throws a series of strikes that have Artukovic backpedaling.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Oooooh!!! Mathias has knocked Artukovic down with a huge combo! Mathias steps away and waves a wobbly Artukovic back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Artukovic is rocked!
Artukovic walks straight into a right hand from Mathias - that's dropped him! Mathias jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Artukovic from any more punishment! Artukovic complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Crispin Mathias!
