Emilianenko comes to the ring accompanied by ZZ Top - Bad to the Bone. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Samir Oheat!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shirou Masuda and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emilianenko misses with a combination
and Oheat counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Oheat shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Emilianenko counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Emilianenko fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Oheat manages to avoid it.
Emilianenko works the jab nicely.

Oheat stalling in the clinch but Emilianenko improves position.

Emilianenko is pushing Oheat up against the ropes, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Freddie Emilianenko.
Oheat throws a right hand that Emilianenko ducks under and follows up with a left that Emilianenko also avoids with ease.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Emilianenko fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Oheat, pushing him back against the ropes.

Oheat breaks from the clinch.
Emilianenko is looking to wear down Oheat with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Oheat, right into the meat.
Emilianenko's jab looks to have found its range, popping Oheat under the eye.

Oheat is trying to break the clinch but Emilianenko has him pressed against the ropes.

Emilianenko throws a left that rocks Oheat and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Emilianenko dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Oheat regain composure!


It looks like Samir Oheat has been cut.
Oheat is breathing heavily.

Emilianenko thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Oheat is not content to let Emilianenko control the position.

Oheat manages to get back to half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Emilianenko prevents Oheat from improving his position.
Oheat is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.

Emilianenko lands with some strikes.
Emilianenko controlling the position easily from mount.

Emilianenko lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Emilianenko wants to control the pace but Oheat is squirming around nicely.

Emilianenko is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Emilianenko works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Emilianenko passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Oheat!
Oheat seems to have recovered his senses.
Emilianenko cracks Oheat with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Freddie Emilianenko overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
