Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Brock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Toby Smoulder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Eddie Brock has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Eddie Brock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Toby Smoulder!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smoulder misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Smoulder shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Smoulder takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

It looks like Smoulder might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Brock wants to control but Smoulder is having none of it.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Toby Smoulder hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Brock scores with a hook to the body. Smoulder takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Brock keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Smoulder thows a body shot but no joy.
Eddie Brock is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Smoulder shoots for a takedown but Brock saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Smoulder dives in and grabs Brock's left leg, looking for a takedown. Brock pushes down on Smoulder's head and hops out.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Brock, as that shot connected.
Brock moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Smoulder looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Brock is fending him off so far but Smoulder persists. Nope, Brock circles away and we're back to standing.
Brock stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Brock wants it to stay on the feet.

Brock connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Brock buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Brock fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Smoulder misses with a left hand
and Brock counters with a nice body shot.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Smoulder is defended easily by Brock.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Smoulder on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Brock jabs Smoulder right on the nose. Smoulder blinks but takes it well.

Toby Smoulder seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Brock counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Brock cracks Smoulder with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Brock's corner calls for a 1-2. Brock obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Smoulder changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brock tries to avoid it but Smoulder manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brock to the ground. Brock escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

That kick from Brock tenderised Smoulder's leg. Smoulder is trying to keep his angry face on.

Smoulder changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brock tries to avoid it but Smoulder manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brock to the ground. Brock escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Smoulder tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Brock swivels and escapes.

Smoulder takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Smoulder has a takedown stuffed.

Smoulder takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Brock lands an overhand right.
Smoulder fails with a takedown attempt.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Brock - that will leave a mark!

And that's the end of the fight!
Eddie Brock showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Brock has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
