Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Hawke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and War Wick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Hawke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, War Wick!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Eliza Hachem and Summer Carpenter.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wick ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hawke moves away.
A head kick misses from Hawke.
Hawke avoids a punch combination nicely.
Wick fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hawke shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wick pinned against the cage. Wick gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Wick cracks Hawke with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Wick has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Hawke to stand back up!

It looks like John Hawke has been cut.
Hawke is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wick misses with a wild combination.
Sloppy strikes from Wick. Those never looked like landing.
Wick misses with a double jab
and Hawke counters with a three punch combo that has Wick backing up. Wick nods at Hawke to acknowledge the strikes.

Wick cracks Hawke with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Wick has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Hawke to stand back up!

Hawke is rocked!
Wick lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Hawke up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Wick from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Hawke's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). War Wick!
