The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taken dives in and grabs Couture's left leg, looking for a takedown. Couture pushes down on Taken's head and hops out.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Couture tries to advance to mount but can't.
Taken sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Taken tries to roll over but Couture keeps him under control.
Couture working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Taken's thigh. Taken counters though and makes it back to full guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Taken takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Taken displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Couture throws out the jab.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Couture moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Taken is defended easily by Couture.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Couture, as that shot connected.

Couture fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Taken has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Taken tries to clinch but Couture is having none of it.
Couture connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Methuselah Couture is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
