Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Punto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jeff Schone! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Eliza Hachem and Donatello Bradman.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Punto looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Schone! A nice elbow there by Punto. Schone tries to hold on but Punto pushes him away. Schone is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Punto is staying active. Punto is looking to stand but Punto has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
Punto lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Schone is in all sorts of trouble here.
Punto controlling the position easily from mount. Schone wants to control but Punto is having none of it.
Punto is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
 That's one minute gone in the round. Schone with a poor takedown
and Punto counters with a single leg into guard. Schone didn't expect that. Punto showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Punto wants to get up but he can't break Schone's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Schone wants to sweep here but Punto controlling him for the moment. Punto pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Schone is keeping the position for now. Punto tries to stand but Schone is controlling from the bottom. Punto with a nice head shot there. Schone trying to control the position.
Punto slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Schone avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Schone trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Schone is trying to control the position but Punto postures up. Schone looking to hit a scissor sweep but Punto is one step ahead there. Schone controlling the position.
 The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Schone misses with a takedown
and Punto counters with a nice double leg into guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Punto showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Schone working a defensive guard here.
Punto has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Punto working some strikes from top position. Schone is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Punto stands and steps away. Schone gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Punto shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Schone napping and manages to drive through into side control! Punto working away. Punto controls the position. Schone is trying to control Punto's posture but Punto avoids it. Schone looks gassed!

Punto stands up and beckons Schone to his feet. Punto misses with a takedown attempt
and Schone counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Punto! Punto tries to hold on but Schone pushes him away. Punto working to try and regain half guard.
Punto is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Punto tries to get back to half guard but can't. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Punto dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Punto shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Punto showed some decent athleticism there.

and Schone counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Schone. Punto keeping moving, preventing Schone from controlling successfully. Punto looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
 That's one minute gone in the round. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Punto holds on and takes a little breather.
 OK we're going to have a standup here. Jeff Schone hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Punto tries for a takedown but Schone circles away easily
and Schone counters with a single leg into guard. Punto didn't expect that. Punto wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Punto wants to stand up but Schone is controlling him.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Punto looking to hit a scissor sweep but Schone is one step ahead there. Punto is working hard here to advance position. James Punto overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Schone trying to control but Punto is working from the bottom.
 That's three minutes gone in the round.
 We're going to have a standup here because James Punto wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Punto moves to clinch but Schone breaks away and Schone counters with a left to the body. Punto fails with the takedown
and Schone counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Punto! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Punto. That's going to take a lot out of him. Punto tries to hold on but Schone postures up. Punto controls the position.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Punto working to try and regain half guard.
Schone wants to control the pace but Punto is squirming around nicely. Punto tries to lock up and control but Schone gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Punto tries to reverse the position but Schone maintains control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jeff Schone showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Punto throws a sloppy head kick and Schone moves out of range easily.
Punto gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Punto fails to land the takedown.
Schone is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Punto's half guard. Punto tries to roll over but Schone keeps him under control.
 That's one minute gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Punto is trying to stand.
Schone wants to control but Punto is keeping him busy. Punto desperately trying to maintain half guard.
 The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jeff Schone wasn't active enough on the ground. Punto has a takedown stuffed.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Schone has his takedown stuffed
and Punto counters with a nice double leg into side control. Schone won't be happy with that. Schone is looking for a sweep. Punto working away. Schone is pushing Punto's head away, looking to escape. Punto manages to hold on to the position though. Schone takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Punto stands up and we're back to a striking position. Punto looks for a takedown but Schone sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Punto. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Punto throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Schone tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Punto is in Schone's guard. Punto prevents Schone from getting back to his feet. Punto not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Punto postures up.
Punto trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Punto wants to control from the top but Schone keeps moving.
 James Punto has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Punto doesn't succeed with the takedown
so Schone counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Schone trying to control but Punto is working from the bottom. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Punto is on top in guard.
Punto wants to control from the top but Schone keeps moving. Schone trying to keep a closed guard but Punto is proving a slippery customer.

And that's the end of the fight! James Punto showed his dominance in that final round. I think Punto has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
