Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Juan Roa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eric Weezer!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Weezer shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Weezer wants to control from the top but Roa keeps moving.
Roa looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Roa wants to stand up but Weezer is controlling him.
Roa controls Weezer momentarily but Weezer frees himself.

We're going to have a standup here because Juan Roa wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Weezer throws a series of strikes that have Roa backpedaling.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Roa fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Weezer feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Roa's calf.

Weezer has taken the fight to the clinch.
Weezer changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Roa fights it off and pushes away nicely.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Roa.
Weezer jabs Roa to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Eric Weezer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Roa is breathing heavily.

Weezer has taken the fight to the clinch.
Roa wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Weezer turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Weezer manages to end up in side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Weezer is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Roa's shoulder. That is not cool.

It looks like Weezer might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Roa tries to buck Weezer off but Weezer is having none of it.

Eric Weezer has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Weezer pushes Roa up against the cage in a clinch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Weezer.
Weezer has Roa pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Roa manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Roa tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Weezer has clasped his hands together around Roa's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Roa is looking to reverse the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Eric Weezer was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Roa takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Roa tries to hold on but Weezer pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eric Weezer dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Roa has a takedown stuffed.
Weezer throws a nice inside leg kick.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Roa is trying to push Weezer away but Weezer has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Roa prevents a takedown attempt there.
Roa wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Weezer has him pressed against the cage.

Weezer has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Roa clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Weezer has good solid back control here.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Roa is really stuck here.
Roa trying to control the position but Weezer manages to sink in the hooks.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Eric Weezer.

Weezer gets a clinch.
Roa tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Roa is trying to drag Weezer to the mat but Weezer just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Juan Roa. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Weezer lands a takedown into guard.

Weezer wants to control from the top but Roa keeps moving.
Roa working a defensive guard but Weezer manages to pass into side control anyway.
Roa is not content to let Weezer control the position.
Roa looking for a sweep but Weezer has passed into full mount! Oh no!

Weezer avoids the attempt from Roa to control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eric Weezer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!



Weezer moves into the clinch.
Weezer blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Roa misses with a hook from the clinch.
Weezer drops down looking for an ankle pick but Roa pulls his leg out and moves away.
Roa shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Weezer but Weezer pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Weezer moves into range and clinches up with Roa.
Roa doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Roa jumps guard.
Roa is looking to stand back up but Weezer counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Roa.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Roa is looking to control Weezer's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Roa avoid being mounted?

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Weezer clinches.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Roa jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Weezer walks away with a smile on his face. Roa gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Weezer lands a nice shot to the body.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
A solid leg kick lands there for Weezer.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Weezer fails with the takedown.
Weezer pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Roa back to the cage. Weezer follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Roa displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Weezer.
Juan Roa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric Weezer.

Roa gets tackled into the cage by Weezer. Weezer maintains the clinch.

Roa misses with some punches.
Weezer has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Roa avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Weezer is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Roa pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Weezer has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Roa can't break the clinch.

Weezer has hold of one of Roa's legs. Roa is fighting the takedown attempt but Weezer gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Roa throws his legs up looking for a submission but Weezer uses it to pass to side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Roa looking for a sweep but Weezer has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Weezer looking to control and managing it successfully.

And that's the end of the fight!
Eric Weezer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Weezer has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
