The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carlo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Carlo throwing shots but Devil is blocking nicely.
Carlo not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Devil is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Carlo wants to work for an arm triangle but Devil is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Devil looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Carlo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Devil is looking for a sweep. Carlo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Devil is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Carlo's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Carlo's back!
Devil throwing wild punches that miss their target.
Carlo is covering up but some of the strikes from Devil are getting through and doing damage.
Carlo rolls, trying to escape but Devil keeps control of the position.
Carlo breaks Devil's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Devil really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carlo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Carlo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Devil doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Carlo.

Carlo wants to free his trapped foot but Devil is holding on for dear life with his legs.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Carlo is looking to take a break and control but Devil is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
