The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Rick throws a right hand that Jones ducks under and follows up with a left that Jones also avoids with ease.
De Rick fails with an attempt to clinch.
De Rick bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Jones's head.
De Rick misses with a wild combination.
Jones misses with a wild body shot.
Jones throws a looping overhand right but De Rick ducks down to avoid it.
Jones throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jones looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? De Rick is fending him off so far but Jones persists. Nope, De Rick circles away and we're back to standing.
Jones thows a body shot but no joy.
De Rick swinging wilding here.

De Rick drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
De Rick throwing strikes from guard but Jones blocks nicely.
Jones wants to get back to his feet but De Rick passes into half guard.
Jones tries to roll over but De Rick keeps him under control.

De Rick seems to be working for a kimura but Jones defends the submission attempt.
De Rick tries to pass to full mount but Jones defends it.

De Rick thows a huge punch but Jones dodges it nicely.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with De Rick. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jones tries to roll over but De Rick keeps him under control.
De Rick is tying to control. Jones wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

De Rick moves into the clinch successfully.

De Rick works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
De Rick passes Jones's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
De Rick lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

De Rick decides to stand and escape the position.
Jones lands with a straight right. De Rick didn't see that one coming.
Jones lands a body shot.
De Rick is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
De Rick is looking to score with low kicks.

De Rick scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Jones keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Jones shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jones showed some decent athleticism there.

Jones seems to be looking for submissions.

De Rick has one foot on Jones's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Jones lands with a nice combination. De Rick backs away looking to recover.
Nice takedown defense from Jones. No joy for De Rick on that attempt.

De Rick has closed the distance and engaged Jones in a clinch.
De Rick stops a takedown attempt from Jones.
Jones is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Arne De Rick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Deacon Jones.
De Rick takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

De Rick rushes Jones and presses him up against the cage.
Jones is still on wobbly legs! Can De Rick finish him?

De Rick pulls guard effortlessly.

De Rick working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jones doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jones manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
De Rick pushes Jones off and gets back to his feet.
De Rick lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Jones can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from De Rick and Jones drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by De Rick.
