Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Andrei Sobchak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brett Swayze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andrei Sobchak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brett Swayze!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Swayze. Those never looked like landing.
Sobchak closes this distance looking for a takedown but Swayze circles away.
Swayze lands with a slapping head kick.
Sobchak shoots in for a takedown but Swayze shows good takedown defense.
Nice takedown defense from Swayze. No joy for Sobchak on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrei Sobchak. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Swayze fails to land the takedown.
Some bone on bone action there as Swayze checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Swayze manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Sobchak on his heels. He'll look to pass Sobchak's guard now, I'm sure.
Sobchak is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Swayze slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Swayze must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sobchak is working an open guard so Swayze takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Nice takedown defense from Sobchak. No joy for Swayze on that attempt.
Swayze throws a head kick but Sobchak moves out of range.
Swayze shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sobchak as he jumps to the side.
Sobchak dives in and grabs Swayze's left leg, looking for a takedown. Swayze pushes down on Sobchak's head and hops out.

Swayze drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Swayze looks gassed!
Sobchak looking to hit a scissor sweep but Swayze is one step ahead there.

Swayze decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Swayze misses with an attempted mid kick.
Sobchak shoots in for a takedown but Swayze shows good takedown defense.

and Swayze counters with a takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Swayze tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Swayze has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Sobchak is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Swayze asserts his dominance and retains side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Swayze wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sobchak keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Swayze tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sobchak was well out of range. Poor timing from Swayze.

Swayze stands and steps away. Sobchak gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Swayze fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sobchak sprawls well initially but Swayze persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Well, if Swayze is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Sobchak is defending against the submission attempts here by Swayze.

Swayze not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Swayze is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sobchak doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Swayze.
Sobchak is staying active underneath Swayze, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Sobchak tries to roll over but Swayze keeps him under control.

Swayze is trying to work for a kimura but Sobchak is defending well.
Swayze is trying to control the action in half guard but Sobchak is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Sobchak tries to get to full guard but Swayze has control of the leg.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Swayze wants to stand but Sobchak is controlling his posture from full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brett Swayze showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Sobchak leaves Swayze with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Swayze tries to break the clinch but Sobchak is controlling the position.
Sobchak wants to stall.
Swayze is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Sobchak pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Swayze jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sobchak walks away with a smile on his face. Swayze gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Andrei Sobchak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brett Swayze.
Swayze throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sobchak's waist but Sobchak gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Swayze off to one side.
Swayze takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Swayze tries to close the distance and clinch but Sobchak swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Swayze defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Sobchak.
The fight stays on the outside here - Swayze looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Sobchak looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Swayze bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Swayze moves in looking to clinch but Sobchak pushes him off.
Sobchak looks for a takedown but Swayze sprawls well.
Sobchak tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Swayze paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Sobchak throws a right and a left that Swayze avoids nicely.
Sobchak shoots in for a takedown but Swayze shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Swayze fails with a takedown attempt.
Sobchak throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Swayze fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Sobchak fails to land the takedown.

Sobchak gets caught flat footed, as Swayze shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Swayze trying to control but Sobchak is working from the bottom.
Sobchak manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Swayze is trying to reverse the position but instead Sobchak has taken his back - oops!

Swayze is keeping busy.

Sobchak is persistently looking for the submission but Swayze is defending it well.
Swayze trying to control the position but Sobchak manages to sink in the hooks.
Swayze might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Sobchak kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Swayze staying busy and making it hard for Sobchak to control.
Sobchak has the hooks in. Swayze is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Brett Swayze.
I've got Swayze winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
